Here's a great interview with Nick Bower of Stussy Deluxe, one of the most under-appreciated brands I know of. It's difficult when a brand has a base tier range that customers become familiar with, and suddenly they see a shirt or pant 4x the price of an item in the mainline. What's the difference? Why does this even exist? Especially in the US where people are WAY WAY more motivated to buy by the concept of "value" than "quality", this point becomes much more difficult to make. Give it a read and see if it makes an impact.
